Robert Hirschfield Architects
Established in 2008, with vast experience working with many high profile clients and studios, the practice is well equipped to tackle a wide range of architectural projects, from private residential clients, to house developers and gallery owners.
They have a special interest in the aesthetic and functionality of materials, of maximising the light and volume within the spaces created, and to provide imaginative and cost-effective solutions to the challenges presented by every brief. The whole process is a fascinating, complex art, embracing form and function, symbol and social purpose, technique and belief.
Below is a beautiful example of their work in a large period house in North London. The re-configured floors have given the family generous sized rooms with an interesting play of level changes and volumes. These are connected by a new helical staircase with a ribbon-like handrail that curves as it ascends in parallel with the central double-height void.
Our Oak, Chocolate is used throughout the ground floor for the Herringbone parquet flooring, stair treads and risers with straight planked flooring on the upper floors.
