Islington Basement is a basement and extension project in the Arlington Square Conservation Area in Islington. Initially commissioned to convert an existing garage, an alternative design was developed to unlock the potential of the site. The corner plot was transformed by excavating under the garden and replacing it with a contemporary glass winter garden which links to a double-height guest annexe in place of the existing garage. The en-suite guest annexe has its own access from the street via a mezzanine gym and steel and timber staircase.

Our Oak, Bacchus colour was used for the flooring in the bedroom as an engineered board and as a solid board for the stair treads.
